is amber lion. what can you tell us today? certainly millions of craigslist users are noticing. >> well, tom, something you noticed physically about craigslist is if you live in the u.s. and go to your local page and scroll down to where the adults services section used to be you are met with a big black bar that says "sencensored." i have been on the phone trying to get ahold of craigslist and e-mailed them to see if this is permanent. we haven't heard back yet. one thing's for sure. this section has caused controversy in the past. people saying craigslist isn't doing enough to protect women and children that victims advocates say were being sold like sex slaves under this portion. in may, 2009, craigslist said they are going to start screening ads manually to protect women and children. for our investigation we put craigslist to the test, keeping them honest to see if they are doing what they say they are doing. we created this ad. in this ad it violates all of craigslist's rules. we wrote sweet, innocent, new girl indicating the girl could be a minor. we clearly put a price on here.

was found in a piece of luggage, cbs news correspondent bob orr joins us this morning with the latest. bob, good morning. >> good morning, erica. we can say the holiday weekend is off to a tense started with the latest airport scare in miami. authorities tell us everything is getting back to normal. but for seven hours overnight, four of miami's six terminals were shut down. airport roads in the vicinity were closed, passengers were all ordered evacuated and bomb squad technicians moved in. it started around 9:00 with a security officer spotted something in a checked bag, the luggage screening area, where all the bags are put through explosive detection machines. police went out and located the owner of the bag and took that passenger into custody. now we're told the person is expected to be released and may have been released already. while officials will not say exactly on the record what was found, we're led to believe it was not dangerous. for you, the good news is that this evacuation happened during nonpeak hours overnight. not that many flights were effected. there could be residual

the guns that the suspect had have now been told to us to be starter pistols. starter pistols. the kind of pistols people use when they set off a race or a track meet or something like that. the pipe bombs that he had attached to his body, they're said to be lethal. they searched that suspect's house in wheaton. they said they found four more devices which they removed from the house and safely detonated. little by little, we're learning more and more about how this hostage incident played out. this is what the lobby of the discovery building looked like today after that police takedown of a suspect in the hostage situation. it all came down yesterday around lunch time. 1:00 p.m. police descend on the discovery channel headquarters in silver spring. an armed man takes three people hostage. chief tom manger said he had a feeling it was not going to end well. >> he had a wide range of emotions. he was up, he was down, he would come down a little sometime. we weren't making progress. >> reporter: the suspect, james jay lee, threatened to kill the hostages, threatened to kill hims

if used properly. such mechanisms include common- sense measures including digital tagging, community flagging, and a host of very important tools that could be used. my time is up. i will finish on this. we also need to weigh in on the ways that people, young children are moved around. last summer, this past summer, i convened a group of flight attendants led by american airlines which has a great program that really needs to be replicated worldwide so that the flight attendants and crews will recognize the person who is in traffic -- being trafficked, across borders or states, and take action. not in a vigilante type of white. alert the pilots so that when this individual gets off, the right law enforcement asset, can be waiting there at the gate. there were instances after instances told where it just did not look right. and the flight attendants and watched what was going on, got into a conversation, perhaps when the young lady was going to the restroom and told the pilot who told law-enforcement. and those young ladies were rescued. we need to close up every means of moving victi

's the latest you have for us? >> reporter: represent oldz, winds have been picking up steadily the last few hours. here in ocean city, maryland, the worst is still ahead of us. we're awaiting those tropical storm winds. we have a little bit of rain but what we could be seeing as this system is off the coast and rotating, we're really waiting for the back end of it where we could see some really heavy rain and some winds that will have to be bracing ourselves for. this is the concern. take a look. this is the surf here, pretty rough seas and while the beach itself is not closed and people have been strolling along the beach and strolling along the boardwalk getting in a little fun before they may have to take shelter, the water is closed because of dangerous rip current conditions. no surfing, no swimming. we just talked with a lifeguard who said a lot of people are just coming out here to get a look. they're getting too close, maybe they're just wanting to get their feet wet, but there are a lot of unpredictable waves. we even saw this yesterday ourselves and they are warning people to get

, what can you tell us today? >> officers say that the gunman acted alone. james j. lee was well-known at discovering. a longtime protester who was upset with their programming. four hours , james j. lee held three men hostage inside the discovery channel building, beginning 1:00 yesterday afternoon when he locked into the main lobby with a handgun, a metal canisters strapped to his body, carrying a backpack and boxes believed to be explosive devices. he fired a shot and told everyone to stay put. if an hour later the officers began negotiating with him on the phone until 5:00 p.m. when he threatened a hostage. police snipers pulled the trigger. >> hart tactical units moved in at that point and shot the suspect. -- our tactical units. >> workers were told to evacuate or to hide. those working your 900 down as well. >> it was scary. >> lee was the only casualty, but police still took action after hearing this boom. several loud booms word and a bomb squad disrupted the devices that he brought into the building. back out of here alive, police are in front of discovery headquarters.

, this has helped us a lot combat the production. we formed in east tennessee, what was the southeast tennessee meth task force which was a local, state and federal partnership because methamphetamine production can't be combat the exclusively at the state and local level. they just simply can't. they didn't have the resources to surveil it. it becomes a toxic site where it is made, so they didn't have the resources to clean it up. and it grew to be the east tennessee meth task force and now it is a statewide task force. we have had tremendous success. but we have to continue to modernize the laws, including federal component in order for drug professionals to be able to keep it out of the hands of people who are addicted, because they produce this, most of the time, for use. and as a result, this is just a deadly, deadly disease out in the hinterland of america and we have to fight it. this bill is another step in the right direction. congressman gordon and i worked together and congressman cooper passed a bill a few years ago to create federal grant support of the children who are t

for being with us this morning on fox 5 morning news. i'm steve chenevey. >> i'm gurvir dhindsa. >> we want to take a live look at ocean city. what a beautiful start to the day there but they are getting ready as hurricane earl approaches. the governor has declared a state of emergency. he says it is unlikely ocean city will need to be evacuated. sherry ly is live in ocean city and we'll talk to her in just a few minutes. over in virginia, the governor has also declared a state of emergency. residents and visit iters have been ordered to leave hatteras on the outer banks. >> certainly a formidable hurricane. maximum winds have increased 145 miles per hour, gusted to about 170. it continues to intensify and deepen. i don't think it will get much stronger than this but this is a very powerful storm. thank goodness, it won't directly make landfall. we'll talk first about current conditioned. i mentioned to you it is trekking off to the north and northwest at about 17 miles per hour. now, centered 410 miles south of cape hatteras, north carolina. it looks like it will be right off the the coast
